-       Born 16 July 1773, Berkeley County, Virginia (now Jefferson Co. W.Va.) His father, CAPT. ROBERT WORTHINGTON. His mother, MARGARET MATHEWS. He married ELEANOR VAN SWEARINGEN 1796. Settled at Chillicothe, Ohio 1798, and was elected Governor of Ohio, 1814. Issue; 1 – Mary m. E.
