July 20, 2009SKETCH OF BENJAMIN WORTHINGTON: 19 Dec. 1742 in Byberry Pa. He was s/o John Worthington and Mary Walmsly. They had eleven children. He died 31 March 1813. In 1781 he was a private in the Philadelphia Co. Militea. Issue: Enos; Joshua; Mahlon; John; James; Benjamin; Hannah: Martha; Asa; Benjamin mar. Hannah Malone D/O Patrick Malone and Hannah Beal of Bucks Co. Pa

Worthington Descendants – Vol 1, No 1, Page 4 April 1983 – Worthington, George Gilbert
August 27, 2008Sketch of George Gilbert Worthington on 1826-1895 born at Bustleton, Pa. S/O Mahlon and Matilda (Edwards) Worthington. On 9 Dec. 1852 in Philadelphia, he married Annie F. Johnson, D/O Benjamin and Ann Johnson. Annie Johnson died 7 Nov. 1868. In 1857 George moved to Champaign, Illinois. In 1860 he moved to Loda, where he helped to found a Methodist Church. He moved in 1870 to Lafayette, Indiana. He lived in Shelby Township, Tippicanoe County. He helped to start a church in Lafayette and served as a lay preacher. In 1872 he moved back to the Philadelphia and Bucks Co. area. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, New Jersey.

Worthington Descendants – Vol 1, No 1, Page 3 April 1983 – Worthington, Mahlon
August 21, 2008Sketch of Mahlon Worthington b. 9 March 1782 in Byberry, Pa. He was the 6th son of Benjamin and Hannah (Malone) Worthington. He died suddenly on 26 Aug. 1842 and left no will. At the time of his death he was a farmer, raising broom corn and making brooms. Two of his children were Martha Bartlett and Mary Smith.

Worthington Descendants – Vol 1, No 1, Page 3 April 1983 – Worthington, John
August 19, 2008Sketch for John Worthington: b. 1696 England. He came to Pa. from Lancashire with his two brothers, Samuel and Thomas and arrived in Pa. about 1699. His father died at sea. John Worthington was a Quaker. He married Mary Walmsly in 1720. They had 11 children. The tenth child was Benjamin Worthington b. 19 Dec. 1742. John Worthington lived in Byberry, Pa. He was a farmer.
